The cheapest way onto the Mos Espa set, and the one built around driving rather than sightseeing. The 4x4 runs a stretch of the old Paris–Dakar rally track in the dunes west of Tozeur before turning toward the film locations, and the driving is genuinely the selling point.

Ong Jmal comes first: the camel-shaped rock you climb for a view across the whole Chott el Gharsa salt flat, with the igloo-shaped set piece below it. Mos Espa follows — the largest surviving Star Wars set anywhere, left standing in the open desert since 1997 and gradually losing ground to the dunes.

The afternoon timing is deliberate. Climbing the dunes for sunset over the set is how the itinerary is meant to end, with a stop for mint tea at the Nefta basket on the way back.
