Most Djerba day trips make you choose: Matmata and Sidi Driss, or Tataouine and the ksour. This one does both in eleven hours, and that is the entire argument for it — a reviewer in May said in as many words that they picked it because almost nothing else covers Matmata and Tataouine on the same day, and that it saved them a second excursion.
The route takes in Ksar Ouled Soltane, the fifteenth-century granary with the stacked vaulted cells; Chenini, the Berber village on the ridge; Ksar Hadada, used in The Phantom Menace; and Sidi Driss in Matmata, the courtyard from the original trilogy. Entry to all three of the ticketed sites is included in the price.
It is priced per vehicle rather than per person — the listed rate covers a party of up to two, which makes it a strong deal for a couple and a poor one for a solo traveller. Lunch is included.
The trade-off is pace. Eleven hours across that much ground is a long day, and the reviews reflect it: warm on the guiding and the organisation, cooler on the included restaurant lunch.

The driver/tour guide Aymen was great. The day is long. He was very punctual and very attentive. He explained the various sites to us well. I recommend him. At lunchtime, however, we ate at a tourist restaurant in an oasis. Uh, one slice of watermelon per person, no more, and a couscous without vegetables with a chicken thigh each. Well, the bare minimum. It's a shame; we've had better. At Dar Sana, we loved those who served us tea and the makrouts, the look-alike of Jamel Debbouze. Thanks again, Aymen.

Great tour with Gadour to discover the regions of Matmata, Ksar Hadada, Chenini (local live guide), Ksar Ouled Sultan, and Tataouine. We chose this tour because it was one of the few that allowed us to do Matmata and Tataouine in a single day. It is therefore a little more expensive, but it avoids having to go on two day trips. We don't regret our choice. What a day! The car was very comfortable and had air conditioning. The day lasts about 12-13 hours. Gadour took frequent breaks, took us off the beaten path, and gave us lots of explanations about the life and history of the sites visited and of Tunisia in general. Lunch is at a guesthouse in an oasis in the middle of the mountains, in a very exotic place, with very welcoming and passionate hosts (Dar Sanâ). The day ended with a spectacular sunset over the salt lake before returning to Djerba. We didn't notice the time go by. The day was wonderful!
